Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness on our 2020 GMC Terrain.Now, our Tekonsha wiring harness is going to provide us with a four-pole flat trailer connector so we can have all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our tail lights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. Now the four-pole connector is going to be one of the most common connectors you find on trailers, but it's also really easy to hook up a lot of different accessories. Trailer wiring is not only good for trailers, it's really good for a lot of different accessories. If we have a cargo carrier that happens to have a light kit, or maybe we just have a hitch cover that's lighted up, most of them are going to use a four-pole connector and it's a lot easier to wire it in and just plug it in than cut and splice into the factory wiring.And there's another really nice thing about our wiring here. more

And since it really doesn't look any different, the back of your truck is going to look pretty much the same. Today on your 2016 GMC Canyon, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Hopkins Trailer Wiring Kit. This is going to make a great replacement for an existing one that may be damaged or an upgrade if your truck doesn't have one from the factory. With this kit, you'll receive both a seven-way connector, as well as a four-way connector, so you'll have various options to hook up to whatever trailers you might have. If you have a smaller trailer, they don't typically have trailer brakes, so you just need the lighting components for it and our four-pole puts out nothing but lighting, so you'll likely be using this one. But if you've got a medium or larger size trailer, or maybe a camper, they often have electric brakes and they'll use your seven way connector here, which has not only your lighting outputs, but your charge line to charge the batteries on your trailer, as well as a trailer brake output.It's custom designed for your Canyon, so it'll fit directly into the mounting location in your bumper, whether you're replacing an existing one that looks very similar to this, or if you've just got a dummy plug here. Today we have a 2019 GMC Sierra 3500 and we're going to be installing and talking a little bit more about the Bargman 90 degree seven pull plug that's going to be mounted on the inside of your bed. Now what this is going to be great for is if you're holding a gooseneck or a fifth wheel camper, you're not going to have to drape that seven way plug over your tailgate and plug it into your factory plug. You're going to have one nice conveniently located on the inside of your bed so you can keep the wiring all on the inside.Now what's seen in the bed, it's just going to be the face of the plug. The lid itself is going to have a very, very tight spring in it. The inside of the cap is going to have a nice rubber O ring so that it seals nice and tight on the inside so that you don't get any water in. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 GMC Terrain- Video
Hi there Terrain owners, today in your 2016 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install to conscious T-One factory vehicle wiring harness. Your trailer wiring isn't going to be located here on the outside, instead it's protected from the elements by being stored on the inside. You'll find your connector underneath your cover, where you store your spare tire, and it's stored right here. Whenever you're ready to use it, you can simply unwind it, drape it over the back, making sure you avoid the striker here in the middle, and it'll pinch between our weatherstripping, which will hold it in place, but won't cause any damage to our wiring. We'll close our cover and then shut our lift gate.Here at the end, we have our standard four-pole flat trailer connector. This is going to provide us our left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps, keeping us DOT compliant in all states. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Installation - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Rob: Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with a 7-way RV style connector on our 2019 GMC Acadia. Now having a 7-way on the back of your Acadia is going to be really nice, because not only is it going to give us our light functions that we need to get down the road with our trailer, like our brake lights, tail lights, and turn signals, but it's also going to give us our backup lights, have a 12-volt power source back here, and if we have a brake controller, we're going to be able to control the brakes on our trailer as well.Now, like all 7-ways, this is going to stay on the outside of the car at all times, so you will need to pick up a bracket here. Now we recommend the Pollak bracket, because it's universal design and it makes it a lot easier to Mount up your 7-way. But our 7-way is going to have a spring loaded door, that we can keep all the dirt, debris, and any kind of moisture from inside the connector, hopefully preventing any kind of corrosion. You'll see it's going to have a nice little weather stripping on there to really help out with that, and a little notch here is going to make sure that when we plug it in, our core is not going to get ripped out.Now, your 7-way connector is going to be one of the most common connectors on trailers, and typically it is going to be for a little bit larger trailers that have brakes on them. more

Rob: Everybody Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow packages on our 2019 GMC Acadia.Now it's going to provide us with a 4-pole flat trailer connector so we can have all the required lights to get down the road safely when we're towing a trailer, like our taillights, turn signals and our brake lights. Our wiring is designed to stay on the outside of the vehicle so we always recommend that you pick up a bracket to mount it securely. It just gives it a nice clean look. Now the brackets are not going to be included with the wiring, but you can find them here at etrailer.com. Another thing is is they are going to include a dust cap so we can keep all that dirt and grime out of there whenever we're not using it. Again, just really easy to get it up and hook up to our trailer.As far as the installation goes, it's going to be really straight forward. more

It's going to give us our taillight function, turn signals, and our stoplights.We went ahead and mounted our four pole wiring to this bracket here. Now the bracket is not going to come with a wiring, but I always like to put it on a bracket because it just gives it a cleaner look and it's really easily accessible when we hook up to our trailer. Our wiring is going to give us a dust cover so we can keep all that dirt, debris and grime out of there when we're not using it because it is designed to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times.As far as the installation goes, it's going to be extremely easy. Now here's what our connector is going to look like and it is going to buy us both that 7-way blade RV style connector as well as a 4-way flat connector. Those are going to be the two most common connectors you'll find on trailers. It's going to provide us with all the lights and functions that you would find either in a four or 7-way. 4-way is going to give us all of our tail lights, turn signals, and our brake lights, and the 7-way will give us those functions along with our brake controller signal, a 12 volt power source and our reverse lights. Bargman Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 GMC Sierra 2500- Video

Today, I'm going to walk through how to install the Bargman Gooseneck Fifth Wheel 90 Degree Wiring Harness on our 2018 GMC Sierra 2,500.Adding wiring like this, in the bed of your truck, is going to allow you when you're hooked up your fifth wheel or gooseneck, to plug it in inside the bed. You're not going to have to take your cord, hang it over top of your tailgate, and plug it in down by your bumper.It's going to give you your seven pole connection, casing is a very durable plastic casing, so we're not going to have to worry about damage. We're going to have a spring loaded lid. On the underside of the lid, it's going to have a foam ring on it, and what it does, it seals right around here, to keep any dirt, debris, and moisture from getting onto our connections.It's going to plug directly into our factory seven pole plug on the back of our vehicle. And if you notice right here on the lid, this is going to tell us what each one of our pins or each one of our wires are doing inside of the wiring harness.This wiring harness is also going to come with an extension plate and where this goes, it actually would mount right behind the backside of the plug here, to give you that added space in case the 90 degree section of your wiring makes contact with the outside of the bed.Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's walk through the installation together. more

And it's going to eliminate the need to drape your wiring over your tailgate, have to worry about it accidentally coming unplugged, or even scratching up your truck's finish.The cab is going to be spring loaded, and on the bottom side there's going to be a rubber seal. Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 GMC Sierra 2500- Video
Hi there, GMC Sierra owners. Today on our 2018 GMC Sierra, we're going to be installing Draw-Tite's fifth wheel or gooseneck wiring harness. This wiring harness is going to put your seven-pole connector in a much more convenient location for your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailers. Often, your fifth wheel gooseneck trailer, the cable that comes with it isn't long enough to reach over the back of the bed of your truck to plug into your existing factory connector. And if it is long enough, it's usually just barely long enough and then you've got a cable rubbing up against the outside of your tailgate potentially scuffing up the paint.This keeps everything in your bed, doesn't put any stress on the length of your cable, and your factory seven-pole connector still functions along side with this one. The seven-way connector has a spring-loaded cover with rubber gasket on the inside to keep out any dirt, debris, and moisture, ensuring a long lasting connection.You will have to drill a hole to mount your seven-way connector. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Sierra, we're gonna be taking a look at, and installing, the 7- and 4-pole trailer connector socket with mounting bracket. This connector is gonna allow your GMC Sierra to hook up to anything you may be towing that has a 7- or 4-pull connector.This is what our connector looks like installed. It's really nice because it utilizes all the factory wiring, so it's literally just a plug and play type deal. The connector itself just clips right into the bumper and gives you that nice clean factory look. The cap is spring-loaded and has a rubber seal around it, and what that'll do when we're not using it, it will keep any moisture or dirt and debris out of it. Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 GMC Terrain- Video
Today in our 2018 GMC Terrain we're gonna be installing Tekonsha's T1 vehicle wiring harness, part number 118285. This harness is gonna plug into your trailer to provide it with all the necessary lighting. You simply plug in your four pole connector from your vehicle to your trailer, and it'll now provide all the necessary lighting, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and break lamps.Since this harness plugs right into your factory tow package, it acts as an adapter allowing you to get that four pole connection out at the back of your vehicle. Since you're using your factory tow package connector, all the necessary circuit protection is built into your vehicle for your towing circuits. This way, if you have a fault on your trailer, instead of it affecting any of the turn signals that you may have at the back of your vehicle, it will open the fuses for your tow package in your vehicle, which won't affect the lighting on the back of the vehicle.There's an included dust cap to keep out any dirt and debris, to ensure that you have a long lasting four pole connection. Additionally you can use this dust cap to keep the harness up and out of the way when not in use, by hooking it onto your hitches safety chain loop.Included in your box you'll receive your factory tow harness adapter connector as well as a bag with some zip ties and relays. more

Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 GMC Sierra 2500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 you're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the Hopkins endurance fifth wheel gooseneck 90 degree wiring harness with seven pull plug. Part number 41157. It's going to give you your brake lights, your right turn, your left turn, your running lights, your grounds, your reverse lights, and it's also going to give you a wire to hook into the brake controller, which the 2500 normally has a brake controller already installed in the truck. This allows you to run that break controller.It's going to give us the option of plugging in when we have our gooseneck hooked up plugging in our wiring here instead of running the wire over our tailgate and plugging it into our factory setting way, which is normally mounted on the bumper. Your lift is going to be spring loaded, it's going to have a nice foam ring on the inside of it to help seal all of your connections, help keep any dirt, debris, moisture from getting inside of the plug housing. Comes with a dust cap to help keep out any dirt and debris, and can also be used to secure it to the safety chain loop on your hitch to hold it up out of the way.The best time to install your wiring is when you're installing your hitch. So, when you've got the hitch installation, many of the hitches require the fascia to be removed, and this will give you the easiest access to your connector. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 GMC Terrain 118264- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 GMC Terrain, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with a four pole flat trailer connector, and that's gonna be part number 118264. Our wiring harness is designed to stay on the inside of the car until we're ready to use it. And once we do, we can lift up the compartment for our spare tire, bring our four pole wiring out, and so long as we keep it within the area on this weather stripping here and away from the latch, that weather stripping should have enough give to where it won't damage the wire. We can simply close our hatch and we'll hook up to our trailer. Now it is gonna provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector and all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our taillights, turn signals, and our brake lights.It's also gonna have an integrated dust cover that's gonna keep all the dirt and moisture and debris out of it whenever we're not towing. And then once we're done towing and we wanna store our wire, we can just bundle it up, keep it right by our spare tire. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 GMC Acadia- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the T1 vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with seven-way trailer connector, part number 118276.In order to help us get this installed, we're gonna be using the Pollak mounting bracket and installation hardware for seven pole RV style trailer connector, part number PK12711U. That's gonna give us a seven way connector at the back, which is gonna give us all of our lights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, and also it's gonna give us our brake signal if we decide to put our brake controller in as well. It's gonna include a spring loaded dust cover with a nice weather seal around the edge on the inside to keep all the moisture and debris from getting into our connector. In order for us to get our wiring in place, we are gonna have to have the factory tow package on our vehicle, which we're gonna be using some factory connections points. Now that we've seen what it looks like, let's go ahead and show you how to get it installed.To begin our installation, we're gonna need to find the factory tow package wiring, which if we come to the driver's side and we just look directly up, right behind our bumper, we're gonna have two connectors that we're gonna find. Both of these are the connectors we're gonna need to use, so I'm gonna go ahead and start pulling the wires off of the tabs holding them in place, that way I can bring them down and make them a little bit easier to work with. more

Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 GMC Sierra 3500- Video
Today in our 2017 GMC Sierra 3500, we'll be having a look at and installing the Bargman 5th wheel fuse neck 90 degree wiring harness with seven pull plug, part number 54701-003. Here's what the wiring looks like installed. This gives us quick and easy access to a seven way connector for our goose neck for our 5th wheel trailers. This will provide us with the inudible 00:29 we need in order to tow those properly. Also, most fuse neck or 5th wheel trailers, the connector typically isn't long enough on the trailer itself to reach down over your tailgate to plug into your factory seven way in the back of your truck. This tees in into your factory seven way. There's no cutting or splicing any wires required and this gives you an additional connector in the bed of your truck so you can quickly and easily hook up to your fuse connector with your 5th wheel without having to worry about having cable ripping over your tailgate. more
